But one seven-year-old boy in England wants the jolly old elf to help police catch the men who hurt him.
The tragic request tops Christian Hickey's Christmas list after the boy and his mother were shot on the doorstep of their own home earlier this year.
Two men arrived and spoke briefly with Christian's mother Jayne, before shooting them both in the leg.
The mother and child have since been released from the hospital after multiple surgeries and are said to be recovering.
