MIT Says Prematurely Found Time Capsule Will Likely Be Reburied

The MIT Museum’s director of collections says the time capsule inadvertently dug up on campus will likely be put back in the earth.

Last week, a time capsule buried on the campus of MIT in 1957 was dug up about 1,000 years earlier than the creators intended. 

Now, Deborah Douglas, MIT Museum’s director of collections, is saying the carefully packed relics will likely be put back in the ground. 

How and when that will happen is a work in progress, but there have been some suggestions about how to handle the situation.
