'Alien Megastructure' Around Star Probably Just Surrounded By Comets

KIC 8462852 is a star with a bizarre dimming pattern unlike anything ever before observed. Researchers say that's likely due to the presence of comets.

KIC 8462852 is a star whose strange behavior stole headlines for the possible presence of alien megastructrure surrounding it. 

But a recent study suggests the most likely explanation for the star's intermittent dimming is that it's surrounded by a family of comets. 

Lead author Massimo Marengo aimed to view the star in infrared.
