Venezuela: Opposition Rejects UNASUR Appeal

Fears of election day violence resurfaced in Venezuela as the right-wing opposition rejected a text by the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) election monitoring mission that called on the country's political parties to abide by the results as determined by the National Electoral Council. The regional body sent a group of experts to monitor the transparency of the electoral process ahead of and on the day of the vote. teleSUR
