Kur Bashkimi Europian po bën përpjekje për rinisjen e bisedimeve mes Prishtinës dhe Beogradit, kryeministri serb Ivica Daçiç këmbëngul në një tezë të kundërshtuar fuqishëm nga shteti i ri dhe ndërkombëtarët, atë të ndarjes. Në një intervistë për gazetën sllovene "Delo", Daçiç ka deklaruar se ndarja e Kosovës është zgjidhja e vetme reale. "Vazhdoj të mendoj se kjo është zgjidhja më e shpejtë, më e mirë dhe më e drejtë, e cila është e pranueshme edhe për shqiptarët, edhe për serbët, sepse merr parasysh interesat e tyre legjitime." Edhe disa ditë më parë, kreu i qeverisë serbe ka parashtruar të njëjtën tezë, duke nxitur reagimin e autoriteteve kosovare. Sipas, përfaqësuesve të qeverisë së Kosovës, Serbia po tenton të krijojë telashe të reja dhe se ndarja do të shkaktonte lëvizje tektonike në rajon. Megjithë këtë deklaratë, Daçiç ka thënë për gazetën sllovene se Serbia është e interesuar për zgjidhje paqësore dhe për vazhdim të dialogut ndërmjet Beogradit dhe Prishtinës. Por sipas tij, ky dialog duhet të përfshijë edhe çështjet politike dhe jo vetëm ato teknike.

When the European Union is making efforts for the resumption of talks between Pristina and Belgrade, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic insists on a thesis strongly opposed by the new state and internationally, that of separation. In an interview with Slovenian newspaper "Delo" Dacic said that partition of Kosovo is the only realistic option. "I continue to think that this is the solution faster, better and fairer, which is acceptable for Albanians and Serbs, because it takes into account their legitimate interests." Even a few days ago, the head of Serbian government has submitted the same thesis, prompting the response of the Kosovo authorities. According to the representatives of the Government of Kosovo, Serbia is trying to create new troubles and that separation would cause tectonic movement in the region. Despite this statement, Dacic told Slovenian newspaper that Serbia is interested in peaceful solutions and to continue the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. But according to him, this dialogue should also include political and not just technical ones.
