Flooding hits luxury Lake District hotel
The largest Hotel in Grasmere, Cumbria was evacuated over night after heavy rain in Cumbria caused widespread flooding.

Three fire engines were in attendance at the Daffodil Hotel and set up pumps to divert the flood water away from the hotel.

The luxury hotel is on the shores of Grasmere Lake, but it was water from the river that caused the problem.

The sheer volume of water flowing out of the village, overwhelmed the drainage systems and ended up in the Hotel car park and at its front door.
