Mexico: Campesinos Protest Expected Budget Cuts
  • 8 years ago
Mexico's campesino movement took to the streets of the country's capital in several demonstrations that are expected to continue to protest planned budget cuts that will affect agricultural production. The small scale producers reject plans to cut agricultural budget outlays and subsidies by almost 30% in 2016. On November 15 Congress will discuss next years budget and given lower than expected oil revenue, major cuts in spending are projected. Clayton Conn reports from Mexico City. teleSUR
