Satellite Images Show Dramatic Impact Of Cyclone On Yemen

A satellite image shows the dramatic impact of a tropical cyclone.

There was no record of a tropical cyclone ever striking Yemen—until now. 
On November 3rd, for the first time since record-keeping began, Cyclone Chapala made contact with the small nation on the Arabian Peninsula. 
The mostly-desert makeup of the country all but assured dangerous conditions would result from Chapala's heavy rainfall. 
NASA has released before and after images showing the widespread flooding as a result of the cyclone.
