Argentina: Thousands Mark 24th Annual Gay Pride March
  • 8 years ago
Thousands marched through the streets of Buenos Aires on November 7 to celebrate the 24th annual gay pride march. In 1992 300 people attended the first march, while 200,000 marched last year. Argentina is the leader of the movement for gay, lesbian and transsexual rights in Latin America. It was the first country in the region to allow same-sex unions in 2002 and the first to legalize same-sex marriage in 2010. Organizers called on the presidential candidates to tell them they will defend their rights. teleSUR
