Bolivia’s Congress has passed a bill allowing a referendum to determine whether or not the Constitution can be modified to allow President Evo Morales to run for a fourth consecutive term of office. Those supporting the measure are in favor of extending the administration of Bolivia’s first indigenous president. Under his rule, Bolivia has enjoyed relative prosperity and calm, and its economy has tripled in size. Morales has said he will run for a fourth term in the 2019 elections if the results of the referendum are favorable. teleSUR
