Martial Law: NorCal cops add nunchucks to crime-fighting gear
  • 8 years ago
ANDERSON, CALIFORNIA — Police in the tiny Northern Californian town of Anderson are giving new meaning to the phrase Martial Law after they recently added nunchucks to their crime-fighting arsenal.

More usually associated with ninja's, the 20 officers of the Anderson police department will now have the choice to use the weapons, which they say can help minimise injuries to officers and the suspects they detain.

To qualify to use Bruce Lee's weapon of choice while on duty, officers will first need to undergo 16-hours of training with a qualified teacher.

During the training course, the officers of Anderson will learn several moves that the nunchucks' manufacturers, Orcutt Police Defensive Systems, claim they can use to restrain and control a suspect without while limiting injury to them.
