SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — A subsidiary of South Korean multinational conglomerate Samsung unveiled a new range of batteries at an exhibition in Seoul last week that are designed to be worn.

The batteries are known as the Band and the Stripe, which were developed by Samsung SDI, according to Geek. They can be attached to current smart wearables.

The Band is designed for smartwatches and can provide up to 50 percent more battery life. The Stripe is just 0.3 mm in depth and can be bent into different shapes, which is suitable for accessories such as necklaces and headbands, Geek reported.

Both batteries are prototypes, and no official release dates have been set.
