Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa debated three opposition economists in a face off that boiled down to his socialism against their neoliberalism. Correa argued against the country’s old IMF imposed policies and affirmed that the socialist structure has succeeded in reducing inequality and making the country one of the five least indebted in Latin America. He also listed a number of other achievements made during the last eight years, including the protection of employment and investment in social programs, health and education. teleSUR
