Brazil: Oil Workers Strike Against Petrobras Privatization

Brazilian oil workers in five states are on strike to defend the state owned oil giant Petrobras against attempts to privatize the company. The striking workers are also demanding a 10% wage increase to compensate for inflation and in defense of their contract rights and benefits. The National Oil Workers Federation, representing 12 unions, will join the strike, which will continue until a workers' assembly is held tomorrow afternoon to decide future actions. teleSUR
