How to Check Anti Virus Working or Not

You may have doubt after installation of antivirus. You may logically wonder. How I know antivirus program is working or not. The answer is just test with virus file. So here I would like to tell you process of virus file creation. The EICAR standard antivirus test file is a combined effort by anti-virus vendors throughout the world to implement one standard by which customers can verify their anti-virus installations.
When you have virus file just scan it with antivirus program. If antivirus is configured correctly, antivirus program will show as virus is detected. If virus scan is not running, start virus scan whole directory that contains EICAR.COM file. When your antivirus program scans this file, it will report the EICAR test file has virus.

Note: This is not a virus file. You can delete the file when you have finished testing to avoid alarming unsuspecting.
