Shocking CCTV footage has emerged from China of a motor scooter bursting into flames after it crashed into a car at a junction, with the rider thrown from the vehicle like a rag doll.

In the footage, captured in Guangxi region on Wednesday, the scooter can be seen catching fire the moment it slips away, following the strike.

The rider can be seen being thrown from the vehicle but somehow, according to local reports, he survived the accident and is currently recovering in hospital.
