Brazil: New Impeachment Petition against Dilma Rousseff
  • 9 years ago
A new petition for the petition of Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff has reached Congress. Opposition lawyers filed the document, which is considered the most serious attempt so far to impeach Rousseff. It is based on a federal audit report that her government manipulated accounts to disguise the size of the deficit and allow for more government spending just before her narrow re-election last year. The petition has to be accepted by Assembly President Eduardo Cunha, who is accused of participation in the Petrobras corruption scandal. teleSUR
