Rare Bible Featuring Typo Encouraging Adultery To Be Auctioned
  • 9 years ago
A rare Bible that inadvertently encourages people to commit adultery is up for auction.

Even with computers and their spell-checking magic, typos are hard to catch, and in times before the digital era, they were almost inevitable.
Some, however, were more unfortunate than others, as is the case with an incredibly rare Bible that inadvertently encourages people to commit adultery.
One of the few remaining copies of the approximately 1,000 made is up for auction at Bonhams in London and expected to sell for upwards of $23,000.
Printed in 1631, the so called 'Wicked' Bible includes the directive ‘Though shalt commit adultery’ rather than the much more common dissuasive version of the commandment.
