The first ballistic report on the presumed remains of Thomas Sankara suggests that he was shot repeatedly. The revolutionary has been revered across much of Burkina Faso since his assassination in 1987. Also, protesters rally in South Africa to denounce institutional corruption. Faced with a worsening economy, many point to alleged political graft as a major reason for the country's struggles.
