UCLA frat, sorority under the gun for wearing blackface at Kanye party

LOS ANGELES ? A bunch of sorority and fraternity students at UCLA have managed to upset a whole lot of people after they allegedly had the great idea to put on blackface for a Kanye West and Kim Kardashian-themed mixer.
The event was hosted Tuesday night by the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and the Alpha Phi sorority. It was a "Kanye-Western" themed party, so students showed up in hip-hop themed costumes with cowboy hats.
Instagram photos show sorority girls posing with padded butts, baggy clothes and big lips in honor of the reality TV family, the Daily Bruin reported.
Unfortunately, some of the party-goers thought it would be a good idea to smear charcoal on their foreheads, sparking harsh criticism on campus during UCLA's welcome week for black students.
Protests were held on campus from black student groups, while there was also a resurgence of the hashtag #BlackBruinsMatter.
Sigma Phi Epsilon's national office says the UCLA chapter has temporarily suspended activities during an investigation into the incident. UCLA said Alpha Phi's social activities have also been temporarily suspended.
