Israelis stabbed by Palestinians in three separate attacks

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL ? Violent clashes continued between Palestinians and Israelis in Jerusalem and the West Bank on Wednesday. The latest in the string of attacks included three separate knife attacks in Israeli and Palestinian territories.
An 18-year-old Palestinian woman reportedly stabbed a 35-year-old Israeli man in the back early Wednesday morning in Jerusalem's Old City. The injured man was able to reach for a weapon and shoot the woman, seriously injuring her. Both the man and woman were transported to the Hadassah Hospital, Magen David Adom paramedic Aharon Adler told The Times of Israel.
Later that day in Kiryat Gat, a Palestinian man, identified as 20-year-old Amjad al-Jundi, stabbed an Israeli soldier and stole his rifle. He fled and barricaded himself in an apartment. He was later gunned down by officers while attempting to stab an Israeli woman after failing to fire the rifle as the weapon's magazine was empty, according to Ynet.
In the third attack, a Palestinian man stabbed an Israeli man outside a shopping center in Petah Tikva. He was apprehended by bystanders and was later taken into custody by police, according to The Times of Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been under pressure to impose tougher measures against the Palestinian attacks. Netanyahu has canceled his visit to Germany to monitor the situation.
"We're in the midst of a wave of terror," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters during a tour of a police command center in Jerusalem. "Civilians are at the forefront of the war against terrorism and must be on maximum alert."
