Report Details Over 200 New Species Found In Himalayas

The World Wildlife Fund has issued a report containing 211 newly-identified species in the Himalayas—and the threats humans pose to their very existence.

Over 200 new species have been discovered in the Himalayas in the past six years. 
There's the blue dwarf ‘walking’ snakehead fish; it can move on land and breathe air directly from the atmosphere for up to four days. 
There's also the lance-headed pit viper; its red, yellow and gold pattern said to be akin to an intricate piece of jewelry.


The report issued by the World Wildlife Fund describes many more of the 211 species of plant and animal life discovered in the Eastern Himalayas between 2009 and 2014.
