Peru: Protests Planned Against IMF, WB Meeting

Protests have already begun in Peru against the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, whose 2015 annual meeting is scheduled to begin on Friday. A massive demonstration is planned for later this week. Part of the anger is over the role of the two international institutions in financing the Conga mining project, where a toxic spill severely damaged the environment and poisoned local residents. teleSUR
