UK millionaire crashes Porsche into crowd at Malta motor show, injures 26

VALLETTA, MALTA-- Twenty-six people were injured on Sunday after a Porsche supercar lost control at the annual Paqpaqli ghall-Istrina motor show in Malta and crashed into the crowd.
Malta Today reports that the car was owned by British telecommunications millionaire Paul Bailey, who was at the wheel at the time of the accident.
A witness explained the car was speeding down the taxiway when a back wheel went on the grass.
Bailey lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the barriers on the opposite side of the road, where people were watching the show. Some victims suffered severe head injuries, multiple fractures and abdominal injuries, according to NBC.
Bailey, who is in a stable condition, is among 14 people who are still in hospital. Five of them are in critical conditions.
The Telegraph reports that Bailey, a self-made millionaire from the East Midlands, has a collection of more than 30 supercars, including a ?866,000 McLaren P1 and ?1.2 million customised Ferrari.
He reportedly bought the limited edition Porsche Spyder for ?780,000 in January this year.The rest of the motor show, hosted by Malta's president to raise money for charity, was cancelled.
