Lady Gaga is known for many things, but now she's also a Woman of the Year-which should come as no surprise to her devoted fans.
Billboard announced today the pop icon will be honored during its annual Women in Music event, which will air for the first time on Lifetime in December.
In recent weeks, Gaga has addressed the issue of sexual assault, releasing an emotionally poignant ballad called "'Till It Happens to You," and will donate a part of the song's proceeds to organizations helping survivors.
With this award, Gaga now joins an elite club of fellow honorees including Taylor Swift , Pink , Katy Perry and Beyoncé .
