Ecuador Marks 5th Anniversary of Failed Coup Attempt
  • 9 years ago
September 30 marks the 5th anniversary of a police rebellion that turned into a failed coup attempt to oust Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa. Since then, 251 people have been tried and 179 found guilty of crimes committed in the course of the attempted coup. Several other cases remain under investigation, but the declassification of documents related to the 2010 events could expedite the judicial proceedings. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito. teleSUR
