Use of Solar Energy Increases in Latin America

Latin America was the region boasting the highest growth worldwide in the use of solar power, posting a 370% increase in 2014. Chile, which represents 75% of Latin American use of such energy, produced 5 megawatts of solar power in 2012 and the figure now stands at 362 megawatts. Mexico -with the region's largest plant-, Brazil, Peru, Honduras, and Costa Rica are also generating solar power as an alternative and renewable source of energy. teleSUR
