Modi Government has sent the first signal to take strong action against the tainted former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi after facing constant Opposition onslaught, by sending Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials to Singapore to speed up action in the case. The ED had asked for legal assistance from Singapore and Mauritius in the money laundering case involving Lalit Modi by sending them letter rogatory (LR). The ED had been taking no action in this case for two years. Lately, Union Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje have been associated in the case sending the government on backfoot.
