Blatter could face FIFA ethics investigation
  • 9 years ago
The Fifa president Sepp Blatter faces the threat of suspension this week after becoming the subject of a criminal investigation into suspect financial dealings with two football kingmakers who kept him in power.
Blatter resigned in June, just four days after winning a fifth term as president, but announced that he would continue to lead world football's governing body until his successor is elected in February.
However, Blatter's plans for a dignified handover may be in ruins after Friday's dramatic raid on his Zurich office by investigators for the Swiss attorney-general that made him the first president in Fifa's 111-year history to be questioned over suspected criminal offences.
