Israel Deploys Troops to Restrict Palestinian Entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque
  • 9 years ago
Israel has imposed harsh restrictions on the entry of Palestinians to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, deployed thousands of soldiers, and placed police forces on high alert in Jerusalem in preparation for the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur. A spokesman for the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine said that such practices encourage war crimes and the denial of Palestinians’ right to worship there. The President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas called on the international community to pressure Israel to stop its harassment of Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
