Pope Addresses UN Summit and Speaks on Social Issues

Pope Francis addressed the UN Summit on Sustainable Development in a speech in which he commented on an array of social issues. The Pontiff centered part of his remarks on economic and social exclusion, which he characterized as a total denial of brotherhood. He called for increasing education for girls, an end to the destruction of the biosphere, a ban on nuclear weapons, and endorsed the Iran nuclear deal. For the first time ever the Vatican flag was raised at the UN. teleSUR
