Palestine: Israel Clamps Down Prior to Yom Kippur
  • 9 years ago
In the West Bank, the Israeli government is imposing firm restrictions on the entry of Palestinians to the Al-Aqsa Mosque prior to the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur. Muslims all over the world celebrated Eid-ul-Adha on Thursday, marking the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca. Tens of thousands of Muslims headed to the mosques before sunrise for special prayers. A member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine said that the Israeli practices against the mosque encourage war crimes and that the Palestinian people will defend it by all means necessary.
