New Black Hole Identified

Astronomers recently discovered what appears to be a medium black hole about 5,000 times the sun’s mass which may add further proof that entities in the intermediate size range do exist.

Astronomers have recently discovered what appears to be a new black hole about 5,000 times the sun’s mass.
This calculation places it among about six other mid-range black hole candidates, including one, described in a 2014 study, which exceeded the sun’s mass by 400 times.

Previously, it was believed that these entities were either on the smaller size at just dozens of times heavier than the sun’s mass or supermassive at a million to billions of times that amount.
