United States: Pope Francis Visits Washington DC

Pope Francis began his first full day in the United States with a visit to the White House, where he was greeted by Barack Obama, the First Lady and a crowd of 15,000 people. First on his agenda was climate change, and he also spoke about immigration, racism and world peace. President Obama d thanked him for his help in promoting a change in relations with Cuba. After holding a mass attended by thousands, the Pope met with bishopsspeaking out against crimes of sexual abuse committed by the clergy.
