Two Malaysians and a Pakistani national have been taken into custody in Kuala Lumpur in connection with last month’s bombing at a popular shrine in Bangkok which claimed the lives of 20 people and injured 120 more.

Officers say the two men and a woman were arrested on a tip-off from the Thai authorities.

No further details were given about their detention.

“We think the people arrested can help in the investigation. I do not want to give any more details at the moment as the inquiry is ongoing.” Royal Malaysian Police Inspector General Khalid Abu Bakar told a press conference.

Thai Police have already arrested two men and are searching for a third, who was captured on CCTV footage at the site of the blast wearing a yellow T-shirt.

He is thought to be from the Xinjiang region of China.
