Argentina: Lula da Silva Supports Scioli at Campaign Rallies

In the middle of the presidential race in Argentina, former Brazilian president Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva visited the country for a three-day tour. During his visit he shared the stage with President Cristina Fernandez and was declared a distinguished visitor by the Buenos Aires Legislature. Labor union leaders highlighted the important role he has played as a political figure in Latin America. At several rallies, Lula expressed his support for the pro-Kirschner candidate Daniel Scioli and called for the continuation of integration policies between Brazil and Argentina.
