First Ever Head Transplant Surgery Set For 2017

According to reports, Italian neurosurgeon Sergio Canavero will lead a team to transplant a donor’s head onto the body of 30-year old Russian Valery Spiridonov who has the muscle atrophying disease Werdnig-Hoffmann.

The first ever head transplant is set to take place in 2017. 
Thirty-year old Russian Valery Spiridonov has agreed to undergo the procedure; he has the muscle atrophying disease Werdnig-Hoffmann which has caused him to be wheelchair-bound.
