MTUC pleads MPs to listen to workers' demands

About 100 supporters gathered outside the Parliament house this morning in support of Malaysian Trade Union Congress (MTUC) leaders handing over memorandum to Members of Parliament.

Earlier, MTUC President, Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud went inside the parliament to hand over the memorandum to both Barisan Nasional's and Pakatan Rakyat's MPs.
The peaceful protest however was disrupted when the police asked the protester to disperse because they did not have any permits. No arrest were made.

There were heavy presence of police officers and riot police outside the parliament building.

At the protest this morning, MTUC reiterated that the main agenda for the memorandum is to demand for minimum monthly wage of RM900 basicand RM300 Cola (Cost of living allowance) for workers.
