Zunar: I will continue drawing until the last drop of ink
  • 9 years ago
Fresh from another round of government action against him, Cartoonkini cartoonist Zunar shows no sign of letting go of his pen. The Home Ministry banned six of his publications of political cartoons for being threats to society and 'influencing people to revolt against the government'.

A staunch Pakatan man, his vehemently anti-BN visual musings on the issues of the day have proved popular among readers on the internet for its direct and confrontational style.

Zunar's willingness to sketch his political views on paper makes him a trailblazer as an alternative among local cartoonists and a thorn in the side of the authories.

His fame comes at a high price. Restrictions against the sale of his books has led vendors to return his books and Zunar now faces over RM 40,000 in losses.

"Drawing political cartoons is my social responsibility," Zunar says, "and I will continue drawing until the last drop of ink."
