Images From New Horizons Show The Great Complexity Of Pluto’s Surface
  • 9 years ago
Images of Pluto recently sent by New Horizons far show that the dwarf planet’s surface is far more complex than imagined.

Over the Labor Day weekend, while many were enjoying barbecues and outdoor fun, NASA’s New Horizons was conducting some very serious business.
The craft began downloading a massive batch of photos and data to Earth, a process that is expected to take about a year.
The images received most recently reveal that the dwarf planet’s surface is far more complex than imagined.
Among the many intriguing geological features are dunes that appear to have been wind-blown into place.
