A housing shortage in Buenos Aires has led to the abuse of power by many state agencies that manage rental properties, charging high and unlawful conditions for mediating between landlords and tenants, among other illegal practices. They are accused of doubling their commission rates. Tenant groups and social movements qre seeking to shed light on the problem in order to curb the abuses in the real estate sector, which have consistently been given privileges by the right-wing PRO party that governs Argentina’s capital city.
