Palestinian Pilgrims Leave for Mecca
The first groups of Gazan pilgrims have started to leave for Mecca. About 800 pilgrims gathered at 6 o’clock in the morning and boarded a bus that took them to Egypt via the Rafah border crossing. From there they will travel to Saudi Arabia from the Cairo Airport for the Hajj pilgrimage. The Egyptian government has announced that the Rafah crossing will be open for three days to facilitate the transfer of Gaza pilgrims. Meanwhile the Minister of Palestinian Affairs said that this year around 6,000 Palestinians will go on the pilgrimage, which is one of the greatest occasions in Islam. Noor Harazeen, teleSUR, Gaza.
