Germany to spend six billion euros on refugees

Germany has announced a series of measures and six billion euros of funding to deal with the refugee crisis that is being described as “breathtaking”.
It certainly seems to be one that will transform Germany if Chancellor Angela Merkel is to be believed. As long as there are people needing safety she seems to be saying,Germany’s doors will stay open.
“What we are experiencing now is something that will keep us busy and change our country in coming years. We want that change to be positive, and we believe we can accomplish that,” she said on Monday.
New EU quotas for some 160,000 people Brussels says should be relocated from Italy, Greece and Hungary are due to be published on Wednesday.
Germany will take more than 40,000, and France 30,000. This is 120,000 more than the group the European Commission previously said was in need.
Member states rejected quotas in June, but there have been so few offers of places that France and Germany have asked the Commission to enforce them.
