Today we open up and review the Pinkie Pie toys from both My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls. These figures are the McDonald's Happy Meal toys for May 2015. There are also Transformers: Robots in Disguise toys available as the toy for boys. They include Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Fixit, Grimlock, Fracture, Sideswipe, Clampdown and Underbite.

We open up both Pinkie Pie toys and introduce them to our last MLP character, Fluttershy, in addition to Hello Kitty. Both of the Pinkie Pie figures come with a brush, which we point out has the respective logo for either My Little Pony or Equestria Girls, depending on which toy you received. They are both nice toys and styling their hair is really fun and easy. Which toy is your favorite?

In addition to the two Pinkie Pie toys, there are three other My Little Pony characters for a total of eight toys. The other three characters are Twilight Sparkle, Applejack and Fluttershy. There are both My Little Pony and Equestria Girls versions of each. However, there are no Rarity or Rainbow Dash toys. Crazy, right?

The characters Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rarity Pinkie Pie and Applejack are fictional characters owned by Hasbro and appear on My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, an animated TV show on Discovery Family network (formerly known as The Hub). Twilight Sparkle is a pony princess and lives in Ponyville with other unicorns and pegasus ponies like her friends Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Princess Luna, Princess Celestia and Spike the Dragon. All of the pony characters also have alternate versions of themselves in another animated TV show, Equestria Girls, where the My Little Pony personalities exist in a world where they look more like humans. It is generally understood that the Equestria Girls tv show and line of toys was designed to compete with the successful Monster High toy line by Mattel.

Hasbro is the toymaker behind many classic toys and board games based on properties such as Angry Birds, Transformers, Star Wars, Beyblade Sesame Street, G.I. Joe, Inhumanoids, Jurassic Park, Jem and the Holograms, Lincoln Logs, Mr. Potato Head, Nerf, Play-doh, Star Wars, Pound Puppies, Battleship, Littlest Pet Shop, Cabbage Patch Kids, Furby, several Marvel Comics heroes such as Spider-Man, Captain America and Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, and several Disney properties including Frozen, Mickey Mouse, Disney Princess and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

McDonald's has been putting toys inside their Happy Meals for decades, often based on licensed properties. Some memorable Happy Meal toys were based on Transformers, The Little Mermaid, Muppet Babies, Play-Doh, Garfield, Bobby's World, My Little Pony, Changeables, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, The Lion King, Furbies, Star Trek, Fraggle Rock, Spider-Man, Nickelodeon, Polly Pocket, Inspector Gadget, Space Jam, Super Mario Bros. 3, Batman, Yogi Bear, Tomagotchi, Babe, Tarzan, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Tiny Toon Adventures, Beanie Babies and 101 Dalmatians.
