Haiti: Protests Demand that August Election Results be Overturned
  • 9 years ago
Thousands of Haitians took to the streets of Port-au-Prince to demand that the results from the August elections be overturned. While authorities said voting would be held again in 25 of 1,500 polling stations, demonstrators charged that the elections as a whole were marred by massive irregularities and should be held repeated. Only 18% of eligible voters cast ballots in the August 9 elections. teleSUR
