US: Protests Held as Baltimore Police Hearings Begin
  • 9 years ago
Activists demonstrated at the Baltimore courthouse and elsewhere in the city as pre-trial hearings began Wednesday in the case against six police officers charged in the arrest and death of unarmed African-American resident Freddie Gray. The 25-year old Gray died in April after suffering a severe spinal cord injury while in police custody. The police are attempting to move the trial outside of Baltimore and try each policeman as an individual to diffuse the protests. teleSUR interviews Ryan Harvey, a participant in the protest.
