Nine In Ten Seabirds Have Plastic In Their Systems

A recent study has found that around 90 percent of seabirds have plastic in their systems after mistaking it for food, and this number is expected to increase to 99 percent by 2050.

Plastic continues to be a growing threat to seabirds around the world. 


A recent study has calculated that about 90 percent of these birds currently have some plastic in their system due to retention after ingesting it. 


This far exceeds the 29 percent that had been previously estimated.
