The governor of the Venezuelan state of Tachira, José Vielma, announced the deployment of 3000 military personnel to serve as a peace-keeping force at the border. He said that several flights have arrived with troops from the states of Vargas, Carabobo and Falcon and that military units stationed in the area will be deployed to make sure there are no disturbances.
