Guatemala: Congress to Vote on President's Immunity

The Guatemalan congress will vote today on whether to strip President Otto Perez Molina of his immunity, which would pave the way for impeachment proceedings. The immunity vote needs the approval of 105 of 158 legislators. In a press conference on Monday, Perez Molina insisted he is innocent of corruption allegations, rejected demands for his resignation, and criticized calls by the UN-sponsored International Impunity Commission and the state prosecutor's office for his impeachment. teleSUR
