Hiker Survives Nine Days Stranded In California Wild

Miyuki Harwood, 62, was stranded in the remote wilderness of Fresno, California for nine days after an injury resulting in broken bones. An experienced and resourceful hiker, Harwood managed to crawl to a creek after two days and drink from it using a water filter until search crews arrived.

A hiker survived in the California wild after crawling on broken bones for two days to reach water. 

Miyuki Harwood was discovered Saturday in the Sierra National Forest after a nine-day search. 

She had been hiking about 100 miles north of Fresno, when she suffered the undisclosed bone-breaking injury.
